ATMORE – Robert Taylor Sr., 59, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011.

Robert was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

His father, Robert C. Taylor; a brother, Terry Thomas and grandsons, Isaiah Matthew Taylor and Jeremiah Austin Taylor, preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Wanda Gail Taylor; children, Regina (Michael) Couture, Robert D. Thomas, Robert (Niki) Taylor Jr. and Robert S. (Stiffany) Taylor; granddaughter, Courtney Sanders; his mother, Gladys Johnson; sisters, Barbara (Buddy) Cardwell, Sandra (Cindy) Smith, Ruth (Bobby) Perkins and Diane (Wally Steenerson); brothers, Larry Thomas, Jerry D. Thomas and Gary Wayne (April) Thomas; a host of nieces and nephews and his special buddy, Bruiser.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Faith Chapel North Funeral Home in Cantonment with Pastor Gill Caudle officiating. Interment will follow in Judson Cemetery in Atmore.

Pallbearers will be Jason Steenerson, Kenny Perkins, Nathan Thomas, Elijah Thomas, Albert Mirabella and Travis Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers will be John and Mirabella and Harry Self.

The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2011.

The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses of both West Florida Hospital and Covenant Hospice.
