Mr. James Presley "JP" Primm Jr., 67, died Monday, June 17, 2002, at his residence.
He was a native of Coy, Ala. and longtime resident of Atmore where he was a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church and a sawmill laborer at Swift Limber Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dora and James Primm Sr.
Mr. Primm is survived by six daughters, Juanita Primm, Emma McCracken, Janice Primm and Jacqulin Staples, all of Atmore, Cynthia Andrews of Saulsberry, Md. and Sherry Inker of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sons, James Primm III of Anchorage, Ala.ska, Larry Primm of Houston, Texas, Michael Primm of Clarksville, Tenn. and Jacob Primm of Ft. Lewis, Wash.; eight sisters, Mary Haines, Lelia Lewis, Louise Webster, Lillian Reid and Dora Smiley, all of Jacksonville, Mary Woods of Central Islip, N. Y., Dorothy Bowens of Westbury, N. Y. and Ola Stewart of Huntington, N. Y.; four brothers, Lawrence Primm of Birmingham, N. Y., Arthur Primm of Huntington, Russell Primm of Pensacola and Charles Primm of Jacksonville; long-time companion, Blossie Johnson-Scott; 41 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 22 at 11 a.m. at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop Willie L. Williams officiating.
Burial was at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers were friends of the family.
Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
