Florence Green Burgamy, 90, of 9661 Highway 97 in Davisville, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002.
Burgamy was born April 15, 1912 in Pineville, Fla. To Ardilla and Orville Flowers. She was one of 13 children. She served as a welder at a Mobile shipyard during WW II along with her husband Brady Green. She later began a career at St. Regis paper Company in Cantonment.
Known to many as "Granny," she was a member of Bratt Assembly of God Church and a charter member of the Northwest Florida Order of the Eastern Star.
Burgamy was preceded in death by her husbands, Brady G. Green and Stanley Burgamy.
Burgamy is survived by a sister, Floudia M. Allen of Walnut Hill, two daughters, Laura lee Green Cook (William E. "Eddie" Cook) of Davisville and Doris Irene Green Crenshaw (James Dean Crenshaw) of Mariette, Ga.; five grandsons, Chadwick W. Cook (Debby) of Davisville, Gregory N. Crenshaw (Nancy), Brian Crenshaw, Brady E. Cook (Kay) and Darrell J. Crenshaw, all of Atlanta, Ga., ten great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 6 at 3 p.m. at Bratt Assembly of God Church. Family received friends at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. Interment was held at McCullough Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Gregory Crenshaw, Chadwick Cook, Brian Crenshaw, Brady Cook, Darrell Crenshaw, Randon Watson and Cordair Cook.
Honorary Pallbearers were Joseph Allen, Milton Tee, Marcus Bartlett, C.R. Cook, Winston Cook, Ottis Joiner, Alvin Owens, Hilton Flowers, Frank Jay, George Green and Lawrence Green.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore was in charge of arrangements.
