A burglary at Escambia County High School has resulted in the arrest of two male juveniles.
Approximately $300 in power tools was stolen from the school's career technology building on Tuesday, Aug. 13. Officers are still investigating the incident, but have charged one 15 year old and one 16 year old in the incident.
One of the juveniles was a student at ECHS, while the other was home schooled.
County school resource officer Frankie Wiggins and Investigator Lt. Charles Ellaird with the Atmore Police Department are investigating the case.
Both teens have been charged with burglary, second degree, and will be arraigned before the Escambia County Juvenile Court.
According to Ellaird, two drills, one with a value of approximately $100 and the other $49, and a reciprocating saw were stolen. Ellaird said some of the items have been recovered.
The APD notified the Juvenile Probation Office, and are awaiting a petition to be signed.
Ellaird said the petition is similar to a warrant.
One of the juveniles returned to the scene of the burglary days after it happened, Ellaird said, and that juvenile has been trespassed from the school's property.
No information on whether or on the student has been expelled was available at press time.
The case is still under investigation.
ECHS school officials could not be reached for comment.
