Ms. Lillian Bettis-Marie Lawson, 49, died Friday, September 6, 2002, at Mobile Infirmary.
She was a native of Atmore and resident of Mobile for many years. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Primative Baptist Church – Trinity Gardens and member of the Matron's Department. She was a 1971 graduate of Escambia County High school and worked at Wal-mart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. C. and Georgia Lawson.
Ms. Lawson is survived by two daughters, Valerie Lawson and Georgia Lawson, both of Mobile; two sons, Christopher (Susie) Lawson and Carlos Lawson, all of Mobile; three sisters, Brunetta (Travis) Warren of West Covina, Calif., Mariam (Muhummad) Salaam of Decatur, Ga. and Barbara (Curtis) King of Mobile; three brothers, J. C. (Mary) Lawson II, of Victorville, Calif., Willie (Bernadette) Lawson of Atmore and Lewis (Andrea) Lawson of Houston, Texas and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 11 form 2 to 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 12 at noon at Mt. Calvary Primative Baptist Church – Trinity Gardens in Mobile, with the Rev. Willie Carmichael officiating. The body will lie instate at the church from 10 a.m. until service time with a family hour from 11:30 to noon.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Atmore.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
