The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce is still accepting nominations for Atmore's 2002 Citizen of the Year. The deadline for nominations for both the Citizen of the Year and a Lifetime Achievement Award is Monday at 5 p.m.
The Citizen of the Year award, which is presented at the chamber's annual meeting, recognizes an individual who has made outstanding contributions to our community. The chamber has presented this award each year since 1978. In 1996, a Lifetime Achievement Award was added.
Nominations for both the Citizen of the Year and/or Lifetime Achievement should be mailed or hand delivered to the chamber office at 501 S. Pensacola Avenue. Deadline for nominations is Monday at 5 p.m.
The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce's 57th Annual Meeting will be held on Jan. 7, 2003. Gary P. Fayard, Senior Vice President and CFO of the Coca-Cola Company will be the guest speaker. Fayard is the son of the late Elam Fayard and Mrs. Sarah Fayard of Atmore.
