Relief Demands Are Heavy
More than four hundred applications for some form of relief have been filed with the Chairman of the Relief Committee. Some relief has been given to over two hundred families.
Alabama Ranks Low In Per Capita School Expenses
Alabama is a striking example of low per capita expenditure in the administration of schools. The state ranks forty-seventh among the states with respect to per capita per pupil in average daily attendance. Georgia is the only state with lower per capita expenses than Alabama.

Hold On To Your Wallet: Garbage Fees Going Up
Local businesses can expect an immediate increase in their garbage fees, and an increase in the fee for residential pickup is reportedly on the horizon. The charges which are now at $2.50 per cubic yard will go up to $3.00 per cubic yard of garbage. The minimum fee of $10.60 is going up to $12.00.
