Thirty acres of English peas, part of a 50-acre plot, on Marshall Paterson's farm are receiving their first plowing today. The field is beautiful to gaze upon which resembles a thick carpet of a pleasing shade of green.

Police Investigating Burglary Epidemic Here
Atmore Police are investigating a recent rash of burglaries in local homes and businesses in which entry has been made but nothing has been taken.
William Farr Selected As Chamber President
The Board of Directors of the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce has selected Bill Farr, vice president of Samco Products Inc. of Atmore as 1978 president of the organization.

Truck Lands On Tractor; Driver Eludes Officers
A high speed chase that started in Flomaton about midnight Saturday ended in a bizarre accident in Robinsonville.
The Flomaton police department pursued a Ford Lariat traveling at a high rate. The driver led the police to Canoe where he turned toward Robinsonville. On a county road the driver lost control and ran through the wall of a barn. The driver was nowhere to be found.
Voting Places Don't Pass Test
According to a state survey conducted last month, 61 percent of the polling places in Escambia County are inaccessible to the elderly or disabled.
