Dillard L. Mayson
April 12, 2003
Funeral services for Mr. Dillard L. Mayson, 81, of Flomaton were held Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Keese and Rev. Fred Brown officiating.
Interment followed at Flomaton Cemetery with full military honors.
Mayson was a native of Mexia Ala. and a resident of Flomaton for the past 54 years.
He was a veteran of WWII and participated in the defense of the Navy Yard at Pearl Harbor against the Japanese naval and aerial attack December 7, 1941; participated in action against enemy forces in Guam and the Mariana Islands on July 21, 1944 until November 3, 1944; participated in action against enemy forces on Iwo Jima from February 21 through March 6, 1945 where he was wounded and received the purple heart.
Mayson was a Board Member of Escambia County Bank from 1965 until 1993, a past board member of the Escambia County School Board and the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce
He was instrumental in getting the overpass on Highway 29, and attended the Flomaton First Baptist Church. He began working at Henderson Funeral Home in 1946, began working at Craver's Funeral Home in 1947, came to operate Flomaton Funeral Home in 1949, and became owner/operating partner of the Flomaton Funeral Home and Craver's Funeral Home Inc., until his retirement in 1991, and was co-owner of the Village Flower Shop.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Mayson Campbell.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Troutman Mayson of Flomaton; his daughter, Mary Beth Mayson of Flomaton; a brother, Francis Mayson of Garden Grove, Calif.; his granddaughter, Sarah Ellen Campbell of Clarksburg, Md.; and a son-in-law, David Wayne Campbell of Clarksburg, Md.
Pall bearers were Starlon Scott, Dewey Bondurant, Jr., Jerome Upton, Shorty Hardy, W. T. Gafford, David Matheny, and James Walter Ash.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Geneva Blanton Baker Dezenzio

Funeral services for Geneva Blanton Baker Dezenzio, 65, were held Sunday, April 13, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Flannigan officiating. Interment followed at Godwin Cemetery.
Dezenzio passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2003 at a Pensacola Hospital.
She had been a native of Bratt and a resident of Pensacola for most of her life and attended the Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Ezra Dezenzio of Pensacola; two daughters, Linda Lay of Pensacola and Lynne James of Pensacola; her sister, Ruby Davis or Pensacola; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Active pallbearers were Mike, Myrick, Steve Davis, Eugene Davis, Jay Cook, David Grissett and Chris Byrd. Honorary pallbearers were John Kennedy and Larry Woodman.
Omie L. McCraney

Funeral services for Omie L. McCraney, 81,were held on Monday, April 14, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Harrison officiating. Interment followed at Whistler Cemetery.
McCraney passed away on Friday April 11, 2003 in Atmore. She had been a native of Baker, Fla., a former resident of Mobile and a resident of Atmore for the past 13 years.
She was a member of the Poarch SAIL and attended the Church of the Living God.
Survivors include: two brothers, Vernon McCraney of Atmore and Leroy McCraney of Fairhope; a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and a great-great-niece.
