Annie Ethel Upton Brown
Mrs. Annie Ethel Upton Brown, 82, of Molino, died Monday. She was a homemaker, born May 9, 1921 in Monroe County to the late Berry and Mamie Phillips Upton.
She was a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Ike L. Brown and a daughter, Sharon Lynette Brown.
She is survived by a son, Charles Vernon and wife Jeanette of Molino; five daughters, Catherine Hendrix and husband Donald of Molino; Joyce Frye and husband Eric of Bountiful, Utah; Margaret Fulton and husband Charles of Tallahassee; Mary Sue Childers and husband Buddy of Calhoun, Ga.; and Martha Jane Nash of Wilmer, Minn. She is also survived by one brother, Luther Upton of Uriah, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Fulton, Rev. Eric Frye, and Rev. Clyde Risen officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery at Eliska. Pallbearers will be Garry Hendrix, Rodger Brown, Michael Frye, Mitchell Frye, Christopher Fulton, Joseph Rome and Warren Roberson. Family will receive 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Quimby Funeral Home. Johnson Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bobby Joe Ryland
Mr. Bobby Joe Ryland, 63, of Huxford, died Sunday at a local hospital. A resident of Escambia County his entire life, he attended the Assembly of God and was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Brooks.
He is survived by three sons, John and wife Barbara of Atmore, Ronnie J. and wife Viola Dunn of Nokomis, and Donnie W. and wife Connie of Bay Minette. He is also survived by two brothers, Rev. J.E. Ryland of Bay Minette and Douglas Ryland of Davisville, a sister, Jeanette Brown of Molino,, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. J. E. Ryland officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dale Ryland, Roger Brown, Ricky Brooks, Kenny Hayles, Roger Hadley and Wayne Fillingim.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Horace Hanks
Mr. Horace Hanks, 70, of Bratt, died Friday. He was a former resident of Las Vegas and had lived in Bratt for the last six years. He was a 20-year veteran of the Navy and served in Korea and Vietnam. He attended the Bratt First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Willie Hanks, two brothers, Arthur and Leonard and a son, Kenny.
He is survived by his wife, Ann, of Bratt, four daughters, Teresa of Las Vegas, Melody Bright of Las Vegas, Danielle Harrison of Walnut Hill, and Michelle Hockett of Walnut Hill. Also survived by two brothers, Cary S. and wife Juliaette of Bratt and Howard and wife Myrle of Bratt, a sister Audie and husband Jim Bolerjack of Bratt, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held 10 a.m. Monday at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Marcus Caraway officiating. Burial followed at Godwin Cemetery. Pallbearers were Danny Bolerjack, James Sutton, Mark Hanks, Steve Hanks, Ricky Amerson and Mike Mullen.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Hattie Lancaster
Mrs. Hattie Lancaster, 81, of Rabun, died Friday in Bay Minette.
A native of Rabun, she was retired from Manor Slacks and attended the Rabun Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Lancaster, six brothers and seven sisters.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rabun Church of God with Brother Randal Short and Brother Jimmy Sowell officiating. Burial will follow in Dean Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randall Carson, Donald Stewart, Elwood Stewart, Carl Stewart, Jerry Stewart and David Lancaster.
Estside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
