Miss Bambino selected from field of six

The annual Miss Bambino pageant was held Thursday night at Tom Byrne Park with six contestants competing for the title.
Emily Moore was selected to represent the Cal Ripken League as Miss Bambino 2003. Her duties will include throwing the opening pitch of the season and riding in the parades. Alaina Arnold was selected first alternate.
Emily is the daughter of Harry and Joanne Moore. She is 12 years old and the youngest of six children. Emily is home schooled and will begin seventh grade in the fall. Emily's activities include playing the piano and Babe Ruth softball, where she is a member of the Rangers. She has been a part of the musical Oliver! and is currently in Fiddler on the Roof. Emily is a member of First Presbyterian Church where she is an active member of the youth group. She loves to travel.
Alaina Lynn Arnold is the daughter of Tyra Dobson. She is also 12-years-old and attends Escambia Academy where she will enter the seventh grade this fall. Alaina attends First Assembly of God Church where she is an active member of the Powerhouse Pre-teen Drama group. She has also been involved in several theatre productions. Alaina plays Junior Varsity basketball, is on the track team, and is a Junior Varsity cheerleader. She is a class representative for the SGA, received first place in the countywide storytelling competition, was voted fifth grade most talented, and is on the A/B honor roll.
Each of the contestants represented a team and was escorted by a player. Emily represented the Twins and was escorted by Kyle Chafin, while Alaina represented the Tigers and was escorted by Cameron Cobb. Other contestants included Sara Beth Davis, representing the Athletics and escorted by Blake Kirk; Malori McGhee, representing the Braves and escorted by James White; Ashley White, representing the Cardinals and escorted by Blaine O'Brien; and Lauren Wilson, representing the Warriors and escorted by J.W.Timothy.
The competition was judged by Cyndi Vaughn, Jane Snyder, and Ann Florie. Gabby Linam and David Dobson were the junior assistants. Marianna Woods, Miss Bambino 2002, crowned the winner
