Atmore Health Department will give flu shots to the general public. Available 8-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. All Medicare patients must bring Medicaid cards.
Bay Area Strings, a community orchestra, will be in concert at 7 p.m. at in the senior citizen center at the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.
Dec. 5
Poarch Christmas Parade will start at 5p.m., with participants lining up at 4. The parade will go from the SeniorCitizens' Subdivison to Martin Road to Green Road, and end at the gym.
Dec. 6
Atmore's "Christmas: Night of Lights" twilight Christmas parade will start at 5 p.m. It will go down South Main Street, from City Hall to Escambia County High School. You may call the chamber of commerce at 368-3305 for more information.
Breakfast with Santa will be from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Watson Cabin in Atmore's Heritage Park. For $8, children may have two 5×7 photos with Santa and eat breakfast. For more information, you may call the chamber of commerce at 368-3305.
Children's Christmas Parade starts at 1:30 p.m. at the corner of Main and Church Streets. Children 12 and under are invited to participate; please, no motorized vehicles. For information, you may call 368-3305.
.McCullough Friendship Club will meet at 11 a.m. at the Cavalry Baptist Church in Bay Minette. Members are reminded to bring items for the church food pantry. For directions or more information, you may call Rev. Ron McGhee at 577-6690.
The Pensacola Macintosh Users Group (PMUG) will have its monthly meeting at Barnhills on Nine Mile Road in Pensacola, beginning with lunch at 11:30. This month's meeting will be the annual "yard sale" meeting, where members will be bringing their used "stuff" for others to buy. This can include hardware, software and books. Woodmen of the World Lodges 1872 and 1892 will meet at 6:00 at the VFW building at 206 West Ashley St. This will be their annual Christmas Party, and members need to bring a dish to compliment ham. Jan. 15
Master Gardener classes, offered by the Escambia County Office of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, begin. The classes will be held in the Atmore United Methodist Church and the course will include Plant Physiology, Turf, Soils, Vegetables, Fruits, Landscape design, Plant Pathology, Bedding Plants, Insect and Weed Control and other topics.
