ATMORE – Homer Thomas Nix, 87 of Atmore, AL. died Friday October 14, 2011 in Pensacola, Fla.

He was a Mail Carrier, born in Tallasse on March 03, 1924 to the late Thomas

Jackson and Ada White Nix. He was retired from the U.S. Navy, Army, and Air Force.

One brother, Charles Nix preceded him in death.

Survivors are his wife, Sara Joan Nix of Atmore; two Sons, Gregory Thomas

Nix of Atmore and Richard Allen Nix and wife Ellen O. of Spanish Fort; one sister

Vada Goode of Mt.Olive; five grandchildren, Jeremy Nix, Jessica Alexander, Lauren Nix, Sara Nix Sheppard, and Adam Nix and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday October 18, 2011 from the First Baptist Church of Atmore with the Rev. Arnold Hendrix and the Rev. Kelly Brown officiating. Interment will followed in Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore.

Family received friends Monday evening Oct. 17, 2011 from the first Baptist Church of Atmore from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Atmore Area Christian Care Ministry, The First Baptist Church Library or a Charity of your choice.
