North Korea announced Thursday that it had nuclear weapons and that it would use them if it's enemies tried to invade.
North Korea announced this as they pulled out of negotiations with South Korea, China, the United States, Russia and Japan.
The North Koreans have suggested the United States is to blame for their reluctance to disarm their nuclear weapons.
Korean officials said the North would wage an all-out war against the United States if it invades the communist state.
"If the United States takes the road of invasion, we will employ all our potentials and counter the attacks with merciless and all-destroying strikes to achieve the final victory," Choe Tae-bok, secretary of the central committee of the Workers' Party of North Korea said.
Officials were hoping to disarm the potentially volatile communist state in order to prevent the possibility of a nuclear holocaust.
It is unclear what our country will do as a result of this announcement.
What is certain is that Kim Jung-II must be stopped before he launches a preemptive strike against the people he sees as his enemies.
We were worried about the power of Saddam Hussein and his potential weapons of mass destruction, now we know there's a madman with nuclear weapons who is not afraid to use them.
Though the United States may be out of range we have allies that aren't.
We should pray everyday that North Korea can be stopped before it tries to launch their weapons.
