The Atmore Police Department made five arrests this week in variety of burglary and theft cases under investigation over the past few months.
Barry Allen Bryant, 39, of 50 Ann Street, and Recko Goodloe, 29, of 39 Short Street, were arrested and charged with 12 counts of burglary and one count of robbery second degree.
Atmore Police Lt. Charles Ellaird said the two suspects were charged with a string of burglaries that focused on the theft of car stereos.
Most of the incidents in which the two suspects are accused occurred through June and into early August.
The two men were apprehended after allegedly stealing an unknown amount of cigarettes from a local business at approximately 1:30 a.m. on August 8.
After the arrests were made, Ellaird said evidence emerged that tied the two men to at least 12 of the car break-ins. He said more charges could be forthcoming against the two suspects.
In another incident, three men were arrested and charged in a burglary at a local business on North Main Street.
Wendell Marice Rudolph, 25, of 55 Brown Street, Elmer Joseph Lowe, 26, of North Main Trailer Park, and Leonard Benard Shoemaker, 28, of Lot 45 North Main Trailer Park, were arrested and charged with burglary third degree and theft second degree.
Ellaird said the three men were arrested on Aug. 15, which is the same day as the incident.
He also said that a fourth suspect is currently being sought and that an arrest should be forthcoming.
