Atmore’s Tyler Nero will get to put his talents on display one more time as a high school student this week as he prepares to play in the 25th annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game in Montgomery.

The Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game played each year since 1988 features 40 players from Alabama and 40 players from Mississippi trying to help earn bragging rights for their state.

Nero, a senior at Escambia County High School, was selected for the game prior to the 2011 football season and left Monday to begin practices leading up to the game, which will be played Saturday at the Cramton Bowl.

The chance to play in a high-level All-Star game against other college prospects is going to be a chance to test his talent, Nero said.

“I think it will be a good opportunity for me to show how strong of a player I am,” he said. “I’ll be competing some of the best prospects from Mississippi, but that’s not a surprise because this part of the country has the best talent.”
