Atmore Community Hospital is honoring their 2011 Employee of the Year, recognizing five-year staff member Shelia Neal for the annual award.

Neal works as a respiratory therapist in the cardiopulmonary department at ACH.

Human Resources Manager Lind Lowrey said Neal is a great choice for the award and a wonderful part of the ACH family.

“One thing that jumps out when you see Sheila is that glowing smile,” Lowrey said. “In addition, she always has an encouraging word which will make your day brighter.   Shelia’s goal in life is to stay positive in all situations and she demonstrates this goal daily.”

Lowrey said Neal is a dedicated employee whose passion for her job is evident through her actions.

“Sheila has received numerous compliments from patients and employees on her caring attitude,” she said. “Sheila has that special way of putting ACH patients at ease and making them feel comfortable.  Many patients have indicated on our patient surveys that Shelia makes their day brighter.  She has been a shining thread that has been unintentionally successful in promoting and attaining an excellent working relationship between clients and staff at ACH.  Sheila is dedicated to her career and Atmore Community Hospital. She is reliable, trustworthy and an intricate team member.”

Lowrey added, while Neal is a wonderful employee, she is also a loving wife and mother.

“Shelia’s most valuable treasures are her husband Bill and son Scottie who she passionately refers to as ‘the boys,’” she said. “She enjoys cooking for them and providing them with the necessary support to make their lives successful.”

In short, Lowrey said Neal possesses everything needed to be bestowed with such a lofty award.

“It is her pleasant demeanor and professional attitude that can be used as a summary to describe Shelia,” she said. “Her lifestyle exemplifies Atmore Community Hospital’s values and standards in all aspects of her life. Because of her passion and dedication to Atmore Community Hospital, we are pleased to recognize Shelia Neal as Atmore Community Hospital’s Employee of the Year 2011.”
