Ernest A. Sellers
ATMORE – Mr. Ernest A. Sellers, 55, of Milton, Fla. passed away Thursday, June 30 in Atmore. He was a truck driver, born in Tuscaloosa on September 17, 1949 to Ernest and Frances White Sellers.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his mother, Frances Hunningshake, and stepfather, Albert Hunningshake, of Walnut Hill; two sons, Jason Fitzgerald and Jeffrey Fitzgerald, both of Huntsville; a companion, Dona Hunt of Milton; three brothers, Daniel Ray Sellers, Larry Austin Sellers, and Bruce Wayne Sellers, all of Pensacola; three sisters, Sandra Marie Davis of Opp, Brenda Faye Geri of Pace, Fla., and Theresa Gail Sharp of South Carolina; and three grandchildren.

Mattie Roger Kirchharr Hayles
MOBILE – Mrs. Mattie Roger Kirchharr Hayles, 93, of Uriah passed away Sunday, July 3 in a Mobile nursing facility. Mrs. Hayles was a native and lifelong resident of Monroe County. She was a member of the Uriah Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, David Theodore Hayles of Saraland, and Clifford Lynn Hayles of Little River; one daughter, Mattie Clayton Pennington of Mobile; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m. at Uriah Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Whittington officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Uriah Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home of Monroeville directing. The family received friends Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home.
Esau Stevens
MOBILE – Mr. Esau Stevens, 79, of Bay Minette passed away Saturday, July 2 at Providence Hospital.

ATMORE – Mrs. Sarah Fuqua, 88, of Atmore passed away Tuesday, July 5 at Atmore Nursing Center.

ATMORE – Mr. James Earl Knight, 31, of Atmore passed away Friday, July 1.

ATMORE – Mr. Joe America, 61, of Atmore passed away Monday, July 4, at his residence.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Charles Taylor
PENSACOLA – Mr. Charles Taylor, 64, of Pensacola passed away Monday, June 27.
He was born August 26, 1940 to the late Mr. Eugene Sr. and Mary Taylor. He moved to Washington, D.C., at a young age and worked in construction until he retired. After retirement, he moved to Pensacola, where he lived until his death.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Taylor, Sr.; two brothers, Eugene Taylor, Jr., and Mose Taylor; and one sister, Hattie Taylor. He was married to Lucille Montgomery Taylor and together they reared eight children. He is survived by his mother, Sister Mary Taylor; a loving wife, Mrs. Lucille Taylor; eight children, Douglas Taylor and his wife, Tursha, of Eufaula, Sheila Strong and her husband, Michael, of Gulfport, Miss., Brenda Taylor of Washington, D.C., Charles Taylor, Jr., and his wife, Sandra, of Landover, Md., Antonio Taylor of Clinton, Md., Carlo Taylor of Atlanta, Teresa Bank and her husband, Lewis, of Atmore, and Helen Pierce and her husband, Rodney, of Foley; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Willie Taylor of Palmer, Md., Edward Taylor of Pensacola, and Big Charles Taylor of Colombia Park, Md.; one sister, Mary Taylor of Pensacola; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 3 at Robinson Christian Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Marcus Lewis Graveside services followed at Fairview Cemetery.

Mary Kearley Westbrook Powell
CRESTVIEW, Fla. – Mrs. Mary Kearley Westbrook Powell, 85, of Walnut Hill passed away Monday, July 4. She was a bookkeeper, born in Atmore on August 4, 1919 to the late James Edward and Julia Verlillion Hayles Kearley.
She is survived by one son, Joseph Hugh Westbrook of Georgia; one step-daughter, Janice Bishop of Mobile; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 7 at 11 a.m. in Pine Barren Cemetery with Bro. Mike Harper officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, July 6, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 5:30-8 p.m.
