The 2005 season ended in the first round of the playoffs for the Northview Chiefs, but it was a successful season. It was a success because in the previous year the Chiefs did not win a game.
The turnaround can be attributed to the arrival of head coach Cody Keene last year. It took Keene only one year to change the direction of Northview football.
The Chiefs went from no wins to district champions in one year and that improvement grabbed the attention of Escambia Academy head coach Heath Gibson and Escambia County head coach Kyle Davis. This recognition granted Keene the vote of both these coaches for 2005 Atmore Advance Coach of the Year.
