United Fund of Atmore exceeds $91K
On behalf of the Board of Directors and agencies of The Atmore Area United Fund, I want to thank and congratulate the citizens and businesses of the Atmore area. Collectively, you have responded to the challenge of supporting The United Fund at a time when the demand on your generosity was the greatest.
We launched our campaign in the fall on the heels of two devastating hurricanes, with some still rebuilding from Ivan, and with real concern about how we would meet the requests of our many agencies. Well, one of our Board members said it best, "Atmore always steps up when the need is there".
We set a goal of $75,000, and to date we have contributions and pledges of over $91,000. And there still remain a few long time supporters that are wrapping up their drives. This success will not only allow us to respond to many identified needs in the community, but it will allow us to respond to contingencies that may arise during the year, such as Ivan-type events.
This is just one more item that defines Atmore's "Quality of Life".
