Blue Devils destroy Northview 73-31

For the second time in two weeks, the Escambia County Blue Devils crushed the Northview Chiefs in another battle of the border rivals.
The Blue Devils (19-4, 4-0) dominated every aspect of their contest with the Chiefs to come away with a 73-31 victory.
In the first quarter, the Blue Devils quickly went to work building a 17-9 lead over Northview.
Escambia County kept the pressure on high during the second quarter as they dominated the period outscoring Northview 19-10. At halftime, ECHS led 36-19.
Following halftime, the Blue Devils shut down the Chiefs’ on the offensive end of the court only allowing them 12 points in the second half.
In the third quarter, ECHS found scoring from seven players as they pounded Northview on the scoreboard 23-6.
Leading 59-25, the Blue Devils finished off their victory with 14 more points as they again held the Chiefs to six, and earning the 73-31 win.
Blue Devil Fred Knight was the leader of his team in the victory scoring a team-high 14 points. Knight also posted three rebounds, and two assists.
Nashawn Hartley chipped in 11 points in the ECHS victory, while Desmond Williams posted 10. Williams also had three steals and one rebound.
Peter Myers, Darious Pettway, Tyrell Ford and Dalvin Craft all scored five points for Escambia County.
Escambia County was also received scoring from Carl Staples (four points), Tony McAroy (three points), Derrick Williams (three points) and D’Andreas Johnson (three points).
The Blue Devils next game will be Tuesday at home against Saraland. Games begin at 5 p.m.

Northview JV 23
The Escambia County Blue Devils added another victory to the win column with a 33-23 victory over the Northview Chiefs on Tuesday.
The Blue Devils grabbed the lead quickly in the first quarter as they opened up the period with a 14-4 lead.
Escambia County continued to cruise in the game during the second and third quarters. The Blue Devils went into halftime leading 19-7 and moved into the fourth quarter leading 28-17.
The Blue Devils finished off the win in the fourth quarter coming away wit a 33-23 win.
Blue Devil Devontae Walker led ECHS with eight points in the win.
