Nellie V. Reynolds
ATMORE – Mrs. Nellie V. Reynolds, 83, passed away Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006 in Atmore.
Mrs. Reynolds was a native of Booneville and a resident of Atmore since 1957. She was a member of the Star Route Mail Carriers Association, a mail carrier since 1942 and attended the Atmore First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Reynolds.
Survivors include, her son, Lee and Rhonda Reynolds of Booneville; her daughter Amelia and Winfred Weaver of Atmore; seven grandchildren, Steven Reynolds of Canoe, Chad Reynolds of Water Town, S.D., Paige Richmond of Mobile, Kim Mitchell of Little River, Dewayne Wicker of Booneville, Sonja Spell of Knoxville Tenn., and Damon Spell of Tampa, Fla.; and five great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006 at 10a.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ron McGhee officiating.
Burial will follow at McCullough Cemetery.
Visitation was held Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 between 6 and 9p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Steven Reynolds, Chad Reynolds, B.J. Mitchell, Dewayne Wicker, Lacy Weaver and Doug Weaver.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Maher, Coy Register, David Arnette, Paul Stull, Elie Bailey and Ed Fore.
Glenda Faye Colbert Hendrix
ATMORE – Mrs. Glenda Faye Colbert Hendrix, 52, passed away Friday, October 20, 2006 at Atmore Community Hospital. Mrs. Hendrix was born in Escambia County and resided in Atmore. She was a former resident of Uriah. Mrs. Hendrix was a graduate of Jefferson Davis Community College. She had worked for Vanity Fair Cutting Department in Monroeville as a packer for several years.
Survivors include, a son, Kevin Colbert of Monroeville; and two brothers, Robbie Bryant Colbert of Perdido and George Marion Colbert of Uriah.
Visitation for Mrs. Hendrix was Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 from 6 to 8p.m. at Monroe Chapel. Graveside services will be held today, Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006 at 2p.m. at Semirah Springs Cemetery in Uriah.
Charles F. "Choppy" Johnson
FLOMATON – Mr. Charles F. "Choppy" Johnson, 72, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at a Pensacola Hospital.
Johnson was a native of Pineview, a former resident of Collins, Miss. and Pearl River, La. and a resident of Flomaton for the past year. He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Johnson; his parents, Earl and Mattie Johnson and a sister, Carol Griffis.
Survivors include, his son Gary Johnson of Pearl River, La., a grandson and four sisters, Margie Waters of Century, Fla., Margaret Bliley of Flomaton, Grace Stokes of Jay, Fla. and Edna Miller of Defuniak Springs, Fla.
Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 20, 2006 at 3p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Adams officiating.
Burial followed at Ray's Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 20, 2006 from 1p.m. until funeral time at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Mark Brown, Jonathan Hamilton, Jeff Johnson, Jimmy Waters, Donnie Waters, Josh Jones, Terry Griffis, and Mark Hennington.
Helen Muller
HOOVER – Helen Muller passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006. After graduating from college, she married Carl Arnold Muller on April 13, 1940. During WWII, she taught at a girl's school in Philadelphia, Pa. And after WWII, she returned to Alabama, where she was a substitute teacher, an administrative assistant and a homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Carl Arnold Muller; two sons, Carl F. Muller (Rebecca) of Brewton, and Martin Muller (Anita) of Hoover; a daughter, Mary Thompson of Brewton; five grandchildren, Celeste Morris (Brent), Carla Hill (Joe), Ruth Scott (Frank), Kelly Jernigan (Robbie) and Abby Muller; and seven great grandchildren. A memorial service for Mrs. Muller was Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 at 11a.m. at Currie- Jefferson Funeral Home.
Ella V. Page
ROBINSONVILLE – Mrs. Ella V. Page, 78, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006 in Robinsonville.
Mrs. Page was a native of Goodway and a resident of Robinsonville for the past 48 years. She attended the First Baptist Church of Robinsonville, and was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Page.
Survivors include, two sons, Henry and Joy Page of Marietta, Ga., and Jerry and Linda Page of Saraland; her daughter, Eugenia and Robert Normand of Fairhope; 10 grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Womack of Camden; and a sister, Joyce Watkins of Atmore.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Michael McNorris officiating.
Burial followed at Robinsonville Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 20, 2006 between 6 p.m. and 9p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Dorian Normand, Darrell Ferrouillat, Daniel Ferrouillat, Kevin Merchant, Chris Johnson, and Dennis Stanley.

Charles "Bud" Turk
URIAH- Mr. Charles "Bud" Turk, 81, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006 in Monroeville.
Mr. Turk was a native of Uriah, a former resident of Mobile, and a resident of Uriah for most of his life. He was a veteran of WWII, a graduate of J.U. Blacksher School, retired from L &N Railroad after 41 years, and attended the Uriah First Baptist Church. He enjoyed being a member of the Bowen Lodge #240 in Eight- Mile, dual member of Blacksher Lodge #593 in Uriah, 33rd degree Scottish Rite, Mason of the Valley of Mobile, KYCH of Monroeville York Rite, the Abba Shrine Temple of Mobile, the Red Cross of Constantine, York Rite of Sovereign College, the Clayton Chapter 306, the Order of the Eastern Star of Huxford, and other Masonic affiliated bodies. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eulalia Freeman Turk; and a brother, Mabrey E. Turk.
Survivors include: his son, Charles L. "Buddy" Turk of Mobile; a stepson, Roy C. and Sally Harrison of Atlanta, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Sherry and Charles Boley of Uriah and Glenda Vegliacich of Mobile; six grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; a brother, Billy D. and Mary Ann Turk of Panama City, Fla.; eight sisters, Sarah Senterfitt of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., Catherine Louise Holt of Mobile, Irene Massingill of Chickasaw, Doris and John McGahagen of Hawkensville, Ga., Louquin Earl Hendrix of Carriere, Miss., Rebecca and William Chavers of Mobile, JoAnn Cooke of Atlanta, Ga. and Rose Marie Ellis and Larry Mulanax of Mobile; a close friend, Martha Peacock of Atmore; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held today, Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006 at 2p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Whittington officiating.
Burial will follow at Popular Springs Cemetery, with a Rose Croix service.
Visitation was held Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 between 6 and 9 p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Nick Vegliacich, Cliff Harrison, William G. Nixon, Curtis Harris, Buddy Rhodes, and Joe Ed Hayles.
Honorary pallbearers will be his Masonic brothers.
Millie Lee Dortch-James
Sister Millie Lee Dortch- James, daughter of the late Rev. P.R. Dortch and Katie Dortch, was born on April 14, 1937 in Camden. She confessed to Christ at an early age and joined the Waymon Chapel A.M.E Zion Church in Camden.
She received her education in the Wilcox County public school system. She was united in marriage to Mr. Arma Jaye James who preceded her in death. To this union five children were born.
In the mid 60's, Sister James moved to Atmore and united with Gaines Chapel A.M.E Church. As years passed, she later moved her membership to the Second Mount Triumph Baptist Church. There she was a member of the senior choir and remained a faithful member until her health began to fail.
Sister Millie Lee James departed this life on Oct. 17, 2006. She leaves to mourn a devoted and loving daughter; Ms. Marzella James of Atmore; Ms. Alfreda James, Mr. Frederick L. James and Mr. Melvin (Jackie) Dortch, all of Atmore; one daughter who preceded her in death, Ms. Sharon D. James, on May 30, 1994; six brothers, Rev. Nathaniel (Mary) Dortch of Mobile, Mr. Peter (Elizabeth) Dortch of Washington, D.C., Rev. Alvin Dortch , Mr. Rogers (Barbara) Dortch of Montgomery, Robert Dortch (deceased), Sidney Dortch of Mobile; five sisters, Mrs. Mary (Robert) Perry, Mrs. Sharon (George) Mitchell of Cleveland, Ohio, Ms. Thelma Cambell, Mrs. Clarice Dortch of Mobile and Mrs. Willie Bell Brown (deceased); a dear friend and devoted stepmother, Mrs. Cassie Dortch of Cleveland, Ohio.; 14 grandchildren; 7 great- grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Ms. Mary L. James, Mrs. Rose McQuetter and Ruth Ann Spencer all of Vredenburgh, Al.; brother-in-laws, Mr. Sampson James, Mr. Benny James, both of Vrendenburgh, Mr. Elliot James (deceased) and Mr. Mose James (deceased); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services were held Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 at 2p.m. at Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Hayes officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery. Family Hour was Friday from 6 to 7p.m at Christian Memorial Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers and flower bearers were family and friends.
Agatha Gwendolyn Peevy
BREWTON – Mr. Agatha Gwendolyn Peevy, 71, of East Granberry Street in Brewton passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 19, 2006 at a Pensacola, Fla. hospital after an extended illness. She was a long time resident of Brewton and Birmingham before moving back to Brewton. Mrs. Peevy was a retired sales representative with Bell South for 45 years. She was a member of the Brewton Community of Christ Church.
Survivors include, a brother, Roderick A. Peevy Sr. of Anchorage, AK; three sisters, Edith Ophelia Jones of Montgomery, Gladys Handrop of Pensacola, Fla. and Rae Hendrix of East Brewton; five nieces, Brenda McClure, Kathy Hayles, Mary Harper, Alexander and Lydia Peevy; four nephews, Fred Peevy, Charles Peevy, Jonathan Peevy and Roderick Peevy, Jr.; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William Edward Peevy and Carla Prestwood Peevy; her brother, Frederick Edward Peevy, Sr.; very dear niece, Rebecca Louise Peevy; and three brother-in- laws, Lewis Jones, Warren Handrop and Robert L. Hendrix.
Visitation will be held Monday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2006 from 1 until 2p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2006 at 2p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel with Elder Wayne Morris and High Priest Ray Langham officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens in Brewton.

Terry Young
HAYWOOD – Mr. Terry Young, 53, passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006. He was a native of Atmore and a resident of Haywood, Cali. for many years. He attended school at Escambia County Training School in Atmore and worked in the banking industry.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Bennie Young.
He is survived by his father, James Young, Sr. of Pensacola, Fla.; six sisters, Iris Parker of Bay Minette, Linda Young of Haywood, Calif., Kayreene Robinson and Michelle Harris both of Pensacola, Fla., Morva Perkins of Atlanta, Ga., and Cynthia Estroda of Conyers, Ga.; seven brothers, Michael Young and James Young, Jr. both of Los Angeles, Calif.; Bert Fairly, Douglas Fairly and Randy Fairly all of Pensacola, Fla., Melvin Lawson of Alzoa, Fla. and Albert Young of Oakland, Calif. and his stepmother, Rosie Young of Pensacola, Fla.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 at 1p.m. at Jones Street Holiness Church in Atmore with Bishop Willie L. Williams officiating.
Burial services followed in Fairview Cemetery in Atmore.
