Tommie J. Shivers
FLOMATON – Mr. Tommie J. Shivers, 77, of Flomaton passed away on Feb. 11, 2007 at his residence in Flomaton. Mr. Shivers worked at Sheltex Manufacturing Co. as a Dyer Supervisor and was married in January 6, 1951 to Seney Johnson. Married 56 years he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and also enjoyed camping and outdoors. Mr. Shivers was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorie Matlock, father, Tommie Shivers, mother, Mamie Shivers, brother, Jessie, Jullius, Allie, Carl, Clark, Sister Virgie Kelly.
Survivors include: his wife, Seney Johnson Shivers of Flomaton; two daughters, Barbara Shiver, Brenda Salter both of Flomaton; three brothers, Joe Shivers, Roy Shivers both of Flomaton and Harvey Shivers of Ozark; five grandsons, Micharl R. Depew, Tommie Shivers Depew of Attica, Ind. William Salter, III, Matthew Salter, both of Flomaton, David Matlock of Wichita, Kan.; two great-granddaughters, Angel Depew, McKenzie Depew, both of Attica, Ind.
Funeral services will be held at Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Tommy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Dale Baptist Cemetery. The family received guest at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007 from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Elizabeth Mayo
BAY MINETTE – Mrs. Elizabeth Mayo, 87, passed away on Tuesday, February 13 at a Baldwin County Hospital.
Mayo was a native of Osaka, Ala., a resident of Bay Minette since 1954, a former employee of Bay Slacks and she attended the Holiness Church.
Survivors include: her husband of 69 years, William VanBuren Mayo of Bay Minette; her son, Robert E. and Lolly Mayo of Bay Minette; two daughters, Doris and Horace Wiggins of Bay Minette and Barbara and Donald Stewart of Stockton; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Ethel Milsted of Phillipsville and Mary Alice Odom of Rabun.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Justin Patton and the Rev. Wayne Cornelius officiating.
Burial will follow at Lottie New Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 14 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be William J. Wiggins, Michael H. Wiggins, Bart Mayo, Ethan Mayo, Lionel Rider and Jesse Peacock.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Wiggins, Chase Rider, Brandon Rider, Kenneth Booker, Michael Mayo, Myles Mayo, Aaron Galloway and Brennen Stewart.
