Willard Eugene Thompson
WALNUT HILL, FLA. – Mr. Willard Eugene Thompson, 66, of Walnut Hill, Fla. died Friday, April 27, 2007 in Atmore. He was a heavy equipment operator with LaFloresta Perdido Inc., born in Escambia County, Fla. on March 22, 1941 to the late Johnny and Etta Bell Harrison Thompson.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Thompson.
Survivors are: his wife, Ann Caraway Thompson; one son, Wendell E. Thompson, of Walnut Hill, Fla.; one daughter, Joyce Jay and husband, Randall E. of Monroeville; three brothers, Johnny O. Thompson of Walnut Hill, Fla., Donald E. Thompson of Houston, Texas, Rufus Thompson of Bay Minette; one sister, Stella Mace of Perdido; five grandchildren, Anna Jay, Michael Jay, Stephen Jay, Alex Jay, and Drew Odom; numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends from his work and the Atmore area.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 10 a.m. in Pine Barren Cemetery with the Rev. Bubba Rolin and grandson, Michael Jay officiating. Interment following in Pine Barren Cemetery in Davisville, Fla.
Family received friends Tuesday evening May 1, 2007 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Mazie T. Lassiter
ATMORE – Mrs. Mazie T. Lassiter, 82, of Atmore died Tuesday, May 1 at her residence. She was a machine operator with Goodwill Manufacturer, born in Conecuh County on April 21, 1925, to the late Willie and Birdie Curry Thompson. She was a member of Martinville Baptist Church and is preceded in death by her husband, Willie J. Lassiter.
Survivors are; five sons, Robert Holley Lassiter of Bay Minette, Billy Lassiter and wife, Faye, Larry Lassiter and wife, Helen all of Atmore, Michael Lassiter and Steve Thompson and wife, Becky of Atmore; three daughters, Linda Griggers and husband of Bratt, Fla., Sheila Dalton and husband Donnie of Spanish Fort and Lisa Alessi and husband Chad of Daphne; three sisters, Agnes Smith of Atmore, Hazel Lynch of Backs and Judy Miller of Gulf Port, Miss; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, May 3, at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willie Ogelsby officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends this evening, May 2, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.
