Lillian Ann Conway
ATMORE – Lillian Ann Conway, 59, of Atmore died Monday, May 7, 2007 in Pensacola, Fla. She was a retired L.P.N with Bay Minette Nursing Care Center, born in Escambia County on June 17, 1947 to Edwin F. Terry and Nioma Taylor Stewart. She was a member of Bethel Methodist Church, and was the oldest of eight children.
She is preceded in death by her father, Edwin F. Terry and one brother-in-law, Wendell Conway.
Survivors are: husband, William Don Conway; mother and father, Nioma T. Stewart and J.B. Stewart all of Atmore; two brothers, Bobby Hommel of Portland, Ore., and Michael Hommel; eight sisters, Betty Walker, Martha Colbert, both of Atmore, Dell Lee of Jay, Fla., Karen Rackard of Chipley, Fla., Melanie Appleton of Atmore, Marilyn Rabon, Tina Brand of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., and Alissa Colbert of Frisco City; 20 nieces and nephews, 18 great-nieces and great nephews; spouses' parents, Luverne Hadley and Billy Joe Hadley; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elaine and John Brewton and Earlene and Gilbert Wall; numerous other relatives and friends.
Services will be Thursday, May 10, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ray Ward and Bro. Steve Breceda officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers: Bill Walker, Blake Pearson, Noah Lee, Jonathan Rackard, Feddie Lizzani and Ben Lee. Honorary pallbearers: Joe Terry, Chris Terry, Ross Terry, Ken Brewton and Allen Terry.
Family will receive friends, Wednesday evening at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc is in charge of all arrangements.
Evelyn Rutherford Boatwright
ATMORE – Mrs. Evelyn Rutherford Boatwright, 82, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Boatwright was a native of Westville, Fla., a resident of Atmore since 1986 and attended the Holiness Church. She was predeceased in death by her husbands, Joseph Rutherford and Amos Boatwright, and a son, Glenn Rutherford.
Survivors include: her son, Steve Rutherford of Flomaton; two daughters, Pearl Sells and Mavis McGhee, both of Atmore; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and five brothers, Gene Gunn of Walnut Hill, Fla., Ben Gunn of Flomaton, Cecil Gunn of Mobile, Earl Gunn of McCullough, and James Gunn of Perdido.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Freddie Stallworth officiating.
Burial will follow in McCullough Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Turner, DeWitt McGhee, Clifford Comalander, J.W. Condrey, Roger Griffin, and Jeff Gunn.
Maggie Irene Cole Hall
BAY MINETTE – Maggie Irene Cole Hall, 79, of Bay Minette, former resident of Atmore, died Monday, May 7, 2007 in Bay Minette. She was a owner of Hall's Grocery and Hall's Drive-In in Atmore and Gulf Shores, born in Escambia County to the late James Anderson and Ida Simmons Cole on Dec. 10, 1927.
Among other things, Irene was well known for her bottomless Coffee Pot, her mile-high biscuits, love of flowers and especially in the last years, her sweet spirit.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Hall and an infant son, Jerry Michael Hall.
Survivors are: a daughter, Debbie Williams and husband, Larry of Bay Minette; a son, Jim Hall and wife, Lavon of Punta Gorda, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Jean Sauls and husband, Bill of Columbia, S.C., Dannie Bradley and husband David of Stockton; one sister, Ruth Marshall of Atmore; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
Services will be Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron McGhee officiating. Interment will follow in Booneville Baptist Cemetery. Active pallbearers are: Jim Hall, Jr., Jon Morris, Ricky Luker, Scotty Flowers, Tal Black, and Dr. Rodney Owens.
Family received friends Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. until service time.

Julia Medvid Turberville
PETERMAN – Mrs. Julia Medvid Turberville, 33, of Peterman passed away Friday, May 4, 2007 at Providence Hospital in Mobile. Mrs. Turberville was born in Atmore and had lived in Peterman since 1989. Mrs. Turberville was a member of Southside Baptist Church and played softball on the Women's Softball League. She worked as a waitress for D.J.'s Restaurant in Frisco City for eight years.
Survivors include: her mother, Gail Melton of Peterman; father, Keith Medvid of Chicago, Ill.; two sons, Ashton Cody Turberville and William Chaz Turberville, both of Peterman; two sisters, Melissa Medvid Burns of Waxahachie, Texas and Michelle Medvid Turberville of Mexia; two half brothers, Bryan James Medvid and Christopher Scott Medvid, both of Chicago, Ill.
Visitation for Mrs. Turberville was held Monday, May 07, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Holmes and the Rev. Kenny Norris officiating.
Burial followed at Bryant Cemetery in Finchburg.
Donations may be made to United Bank in Monroeville or Frisco City.
