Perdido Elementary School first grade students in Laurie Myer, Mandy Scarborough and Amy Hill’s classes recently visited the Turtle Point science center in Flomaton.

Students were treated to a wide variety of hands on activities, interpretive exhibits, which included live animals, fossils and taxidermy specimens, and a nature walk to Big Escambia Creek. The kids also got a first hand look at a bog garden and wetlands, both of which are native to Alabama.
