Walgreens is set to open within the next month and with the new store, comes a new face.
Pam Martin, daughter of Levan and Edith Martin of Atmore, is the manager at Walgreens.
Martin said she is thrilled to be in Atmore and to be able to bring the Walgreens experience to community members.
"Walgreens, including myself and my staff, are very excited to be in Atmore," she said. "We will do our very best to ensure we provide the customer service that the people in this area want."
Martin grew up in Europe but said she was a frequent visitor of change. Chevron gasoline has already been put in the tanks at the four locations.
The outside appearance is not completely final, however.
"It is not complete yet," White said. "We lack the price signs but the canopies and painting has been done."
Also, the stations are already taking Chevron credit cards.
The change from Diamond gasoline to Chevron is not due to negative feelings with BP, according to White.
"We are not moving against BP but we had to produce the volume for Chevron," he said. "We wanted them to have the opportunity to grow."
White said Diamond Gasoline is also going to be building more Chevron stations in the area.
"We are going to build two in the next six-12 months," he said. "One will be on Hwy. 21 and one at Exit 69, the Flomaton-Wallace exit."
Chevron has recently come out with a new appearance, White said. He believes Diamond Gasoline changed stations at the perfect moment.
"Chevron just came out with a new image so we hit it at the right time," he said.
