Tillman's Corner grabs title

Tillman's Corner's 10-year-old all-stars finished a perfect Alabama State Tournament with a 5-1 win over the defending champion Childersburg all-stars Sunday at Tom Byrne Park.
In a game that was delayed three hours due to rain, No. 1 seeded Tillman's Corner scored two runs in the third inning and three in the fourth inning for the 5-1 victory.
Noah Michael went 2-for-2 for Tillman's at the plate with one run scored. Landon Laughlin, Jordan Taylor, Tommy McCombs and Hunter Stokes each scored one run.
McCombs picked up the win on the mound, pitching a complete game with six strikeouts.
For No. 3 seeded Childersburg, Cameron Twyman went 1-for-2 with one run scored and Ryan Gaither and Ryan Garrett went 1-for-3. Tyler Jackson pitched five innings in the losing effort, striking out four batters.
Tillman's Corner 8 Theodore 1
Tillman's Corner dispatched of No. 4 seeded Theodore 8-1 in the semifinal game of the championship round.
Jason Williams went 1-for-3 at the plate for Tillman's with one home run. Tommy McCombs was 1-for-2 with two runs scored. Landon Laughlin, Jalen Thompson, Jordan Taylor, Danny Haskell and Noah Michael each scored one run.
Williams also pitched four innings on the mound for the victory. He struck out nine batters. Peyton Jones also saw action on the mound, striking out three batters in two innings.
Hunter Walker was 1-for-3 with a triple and one run scored for Theodore. Trey Murphy took the loss on the hill for Theodore.
Theodore 8 Monrovia 3
Theodore made the championship round with an 8-3 win over Monrovia Saturday. The game was postponed due to rain Saturday and Monrovia forfeited the game in the third inning.
Kadon Cross was 2-for-2 with two doubles and two runs scored for Theodore. Trae Murphy was also 2-for-2 with one double and two runs scored. Payton Harris, Connor Harkey, Ty Stewart and Alazae Lynn each scored one run.
For Monrovia, Zack Meredith, Will Sipes and Cole Tomlinson each scored one run.
