The heat is still on at the Atmore Motocross Park, but the riders will return from national competition for the fall schedule of the Gulf Coast MX &Quad Championship this weekend.
Saturday will feature motocross and quad test and tune until 3 p.m. and quad racing Saturday evening. On Sunday, Racers for Christ Church Service will open the day at 8 a.m. followed by MX hot laps and pro, amateur and youth racing.
Of the 1,000 riders registered in the series, 25 of them qualified and participated at the summer nationals this summer in Oklahoma and Tennessee. A few riders finished as high as second.
The series will travel to Jackson, tracks near Birmingham and Montgomery, Baker, Fla., Hattiesburg Miss. and Kentwwod La.
