Betty Jean Lacy Cofield
JAY, Fla. – Mrs. Betty Jean Lacy Cofield, 65, of Jay, Fla. died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at her home.
Mrs. Cofield was a native and lifelong resident of Jay, Fla. During her working years, she worked at Vic Tone Cleaners where she made alterations. Mrs. Cofield was a model of strength, grace, wisdom and inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Her family was one of the most important things to her and she enjoyed sewing and her flower gardens. She was a member of Cora Baptist Church in Jay, Fla. and Abundant Life Church in Century, Fla.
Her daughter, Bonnie Sue Cofield; her parents, Ila Mae and Herman S. Lacy and two sisters, Lucille "Shorty" Lacy Dixon and Willodean Lacy Lisenby preceded her in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Bennie "Harry" Cofield Sr. of Jay, Fla.; two sons, Bennie H. Cofield Jr. of Jay, Fla. and Anthony T. Cofield of Milton, Fla.; one daughter, Linda S. Williamson of Brewton; brothers, Wayne Lacy of Brewton, Jerry Lynn Lacy and Gary Don Lacy both Jay, Fla.; sisters, Lula Mae Johnson and Luverne Slate both of Jay, Fla., Eloise Muse of Bratt, Fla., Janice Phillips of Enterprise and Faye Brantley of Flomaton, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at Flomaton Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Dwenger officiating. Interment followed in McCurdy cemetery in Century, Fla.
Visitation was held from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers were Jonathon Cofield, Tyler Cofield, Daris Cofield, Timbo Cofield, Thomas Cofield and Brandon Collins.
Inez Mitchell
ATMORE – Mrs. Inez Mitchell, 85, of Atmore died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at Atmore Community Hospital. She was a member of the Old Ship Missionary Baptist Church in Atmore where she was a choir member and a member of the missionary board.
Her parents, Aaron Robbins and Ella Robbins; her husband, Lloyd Mitchell and her sons, Eddie Lee Nickson and Eddie James Nickson preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, four grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 3, 2007 at the Old Ship Missionary Baptist Church in Atmore with the Rev. Tony McAroy and Bishop Willie L. Williams officiating. Interment followed in the Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery in Owassa with Turner Funeral Home of Atmore directing.
Jenelle King Moye
ATMORE – Mrs. Jenelle King Moye, 75, of Atmore died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 in Atmore. She was Owner of Nells Ice Cream Service, born in Escambia County, Ala. on Oct. 16, 1932 to the late Dewey and Addie Fugua King.
Her husband, Dewey Lee Moye preceded her in death.
Survivors include, one son, Don Moye and wife, Wendy of Atmore; two brothers, Dewey King Jr. and Shelby King both of Flomaton; two sisters, Allie Belle Strength and Joyce Braswell both of Atmore and two grandchildren, Cierra Jenelle Moye and Amanda Colleen Moye.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Grindle officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill cemetery.
Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 at Johnson- Quimby Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Obie Coleman, Glenn Helton, Steve Morris, Walter R. Braswell, Jud Dukes and J Braswell.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
Katie Lou Wells Godwin Raffeo
LAND of LAKES, Fla. – Mrs. Katie Lou Wells Godwin Raffeo, of Land of Lakes, Fla. formerly of the Andalusia-Dozier areas died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007 at Atmore Community Hospital.
Her husbands, Quenton Wells and Chester Godwin; her parents, Ailon and Lummie Lou Williamson; a sister, Mattie Dean Smith and a brother, Ranger Williamson preceded her in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Frank Raffeo of Land of Lakes, Fla.; her son and daughter in law, William and Margie Wells of Perdido; daughter Jean Wells of Dauphin Island; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; her sisters, Vivian Dyess of Dade City, Fla., Betty (Charles) Roughton of Jay, Fla. and Polly (Mike) Knight of Andalusia and her brother, A.G. (Louise) Williamson of Land of Lakes, Fla.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 at the Goodhope cemetery in Dozier with the Rev. Jimmie Ray Colley II officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers were John Curtis Pfeffer, Matt Hadley, C.P. Hall, Patrick Knight, Mike Knight, and Charles Roughton.
