Lady Chiefs edged at home

The fourth quarter of the Northview Lady Chiefs' district battle with the Catholic Lady Crusaders was the deciding factor in the 55-42 loss for NHS.
Catholic outscored the Lady Chiefs 22-8 in the final period of play.
"We were able to keep the game in reach until the last three minutes," NHS head coach Lorenzo Jones said. "Catholic was able to wear us down."
NHS led 13-10 after the first quarter, but trailed 27-24 when the teams entered the locker rooms for halftime.
The Lady Chiefs grabbed a 34-33 lead following a 10-6 advantage in the third quarter. The Lady Crusaders hung in there and dominated NHS in the fourth quarter.
Jones said junior Melissa Garrett had a great game.
"Melissa played well out there," he said.
Garrett tied for the game high in points scored with 17 and added five rebounds and two assists.
Junior Gabe Wesley added 13 points and six rebounds. Junior Brittney Thompson scored 2 points, snagged 14 rebounds and had three steals and three assists. Junior Timeka Marshall had 8 points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal. Sophomore Angela Rodriguez scored 2 points and had one rebound. Junior Shelbi Wiggins contributed seven rebounds, four assists and one steal.
M.C. Bell led Catholic with 17 points.
The Lady Chiefs host Jay Thursday and South Walton Friday.
