Agnew “Kitty McCawley” Jernigan
MCDAVID, Fla. - Mrs. Agnes “Kitty McCawley” Jernigan, 80, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 at a Pensacola hospital.
Mrs. Jernigan was a native and lifelong resident of McDavid, Fla. and had attended the McDavid United Methodist Church. Her husband, Clayton Jernigan and two sons, Jimmy Jernigan and Harold Jernigan preceded her in death.
Survivors include, three sons, Lee Jernigan of McDavid, Fla., Alfred (Linda) Jernigan of McDavid, Fla. and Mike Beals of Byrneville, Fla.; two daughters, Annette (Fred) Crews of Pensacola, Fla. and Cindy (Jack) McCraw of Pace, Fla.; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at Ray’s Chapel cemetery with Bro. Harold Brown officiating. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jeff Stedham, Danny Stedham, David Stedham, Mike Brown, Steve McCauley and Ricky Enfinger. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Coleman and Donny Coleman.
MaeBelle Iris Nall
MOBILE - Mrs. MaeBelle Iris Nall, 91, of Mobile died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 in Mobile. She retired as a supervisor of Senior Citizen’s of the City of Chickasaw and was a member of Chickasaw Baptist Church.
Her husband, John Leon Nall; four brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors include, two daughters, Carolyn Harville of Saraland and Linda Michner of Casselberry, Fla.; five grandchildren, John Harville, Jeff Harville (Lisa) and Ronald Harville of Saraland, Suzette Champion (Keith) and Scott Michnner of Casselberry, Fla.; four great grandchildren, Lisa Harville, Ryan Harville (Melissa), Keith Harville (Rachel) and Summer Huff (Jason) and three great-great grandchildren, Cole Huff, Gavin Harville and Emma Harville.
Services were held at noon Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Hollingsworth officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Level cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Harvell, Ronald Harvell, Ryan Harvell and Jason Huff. Family received friends from 11 a.m. until the service time Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc is in charge of all arrangements.
John Dougle Stewart
PERDIDO - Mr. John Dougle Stewart, 78, born in Dyas Fork and a resident of Perdido, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008 at U.S.A. Medical Center in Mobile. Mr. Stewart was a crop and cattle farmer. He was a member of the Baldwin Masonic Lodge # 142, F &A M in Stockton. Mr. Stewart proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include, his wife, Carrie Byrd Stewart of Perdido; four sons, David (Patricia) Stewart of Bay Minette, Willie (Stephanie) Stewart of Columbus, Ga., George “Jody” (Theresa) Stewart of Perdido and Jamie Stewart of Perdido; two daughters, Virginia “Ginger” (Judson) Stabler of Davisville, Fla. and Lynn Baggett of Perdido; six sisters, Jean Averett of Pine Grove, Nancy Daniels of Texas, Evelyn Moorer of Bay Minette, Viola Hadley of Rabun, Susie Mae Hadley of Bay Minette and Myrtle Cushion of Stockton; 21 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The funeral service were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 at the Chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Pruitt of Lottie Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed at Dean cemetery in Rabun. A Masonic service was held at graveside.
The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., Feb. 20, 2008 at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Nip Hadley, Glenn Hadley, Dennis Ferrell, Danny King, John Kelmer and Pat Crenshaw.
Funeral arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home.
Gary Devon Powell
PERDIDO - Mr. Gary Devon Powell, 51, born in Bay Minette and a resident of Perdido, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 at his residence. He was a self employed electrician.
Survivors include, his wife, Faye Dees Boatwright of Perdido; his parents, George H. and Flois Powell of Bay Minette; three daughters, April Dunn, Brittany Joiner and Brandy Joiner of Bay Minette; three step daughters, Robin Boatwright of Atmore and Amanda Boatwright of Panama City, Fla.; two brothers, Robert H. Powell and James Edward Powell of Bay Minette and two grandchildren, Michael Dunn and Brianna Bailey.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2008 at the Chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Mel Hacker officiating. Interment followed in Bay Minette cemetery. The family received friends Friday, Feb. 22, 2008 from 12 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service time at Norris Funeral Home.
Final arrangements were made by Norris Funeral Home.
Dennis Rolland
ATMORE - Mr. Dennis Rolland, 47, of Atmore died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 at U.S.A. Medical Center in Mobile. Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Christian Memorial Funeral Chapel. Burial followed at Fountain cemetery. Christian Memorial Funeral Home, Inc was in charge of arrangements.
Artilia Brown
ATMORE - Mrs. Artilia Brown, 94, formerly of Atmore died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 at Faith Manor Nursing Home in Montgomery. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008 at Christian Memorial Funeral Chapel. Christian Memorial Funeral Home will be directing.
