Scoring 22 runs in a softball game is something that is not often accomplished, but the Escambia County Lady Blue Devils did just that in East Brewton March 11 against the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles.
Atmore (4-2) took down Neal 22-8 in a county battle for their third consecutive win.
Sophomore Minikia Smith (2-0) picked up the win on the mound, allowing eight runs on five hits, striking out four batters and walking six in three and 2/3 innings.
Casaday said it was a game that allowed him to get every player on the roster an at bat.
Junior center fielder Courtney English led the charge at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run scored and seven RBIs. Junior second baseman Raven Culliver went 3-for-3 with one walk, two RBIs and four runs scored. She also pitched one and 1/3 innings and recorded three strikeouts.
Junior shortstop Latesha Lee was 3-for-4 with a triple, one walk, one RBI and four runs scored. Sophomore left fielder Michaela Norman was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Junior catcher Brooke Bell went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs.
Junior first baseman Tieka North was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Smith was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Sophomore second baseman Jasmine Tolbert went 2-for-3 with one walk, one run scored and two RBIs and junior third baseman Ashleigh Taylor was 1-for-4 with one walk and two runs scored.
The Lady Blue Devils travel to Brewton for a matchup with T.R. Miller Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.
