Ruby Jewell Wise Terry
ATMORE - Ruby Jewell Wise Terry, 87, of Atmore died Saturday, March 15, 2008 in Atmore. She was a supervisor with Vanity Fair Mills, born on Dec. 21, 1921 in Coffee County to the late Ira Jack and Mattie Teel Wise. Her husband, Joseph Walker “J.W.’ Terry preceded her in death.
Survivors include, one son, Joseph D. Terry and wife, Susan; two grandsons, Christ Terry and wife, Kaye and Ross Terry and wife, Sharlie of Atmore and two great grandchildren, Grace Terry and Elizabeth Terry.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008 in Oak Hill cemetery with Bro. Henry Wilson officiating. Family received friends from noon until 1:45 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were, Joe Coker, Bobby Kimbrel, Duey McGhee, Ray Digmon, Holmer Coleman and Banard Etheridge.

Willie Clarence Crenshaw
ATMORE - Mr. Willie Clarence Crenshaw, 48, of Atmore died Thursday, March 15, 2008 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. He had attended High School in Flomaton and had been employed at Days Inn in Atmore. He was a member of Mount Shiloh Baptist Church in Atmore (Nokomis).
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Crenshaw; his sister, Elaine Brown; grandfather, Woodrow Curry Sr. and his grandmother, Rosie Mae Curry.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Anjanette Crenshaw of Atmore; two daughters, Natasha Freeman of Franklin and Mykia Crenshaw of Atmore; four sons, Nathan Freeman, Jasper (Mechelle) Freeman, Darius Russell and Darrin Sanders of Atmore; his mother, Rosie (Elmore) Williams of Atmore; six sisters, Elmara Ezell and Helen Crenshaw of Philadelphia, Pa., Joyce Crenshaw, Gwen (Charles) Davis and Alma (Eddie) Crenshaw of Atmore; Veronica (Steve) Jenkins of Pensacola, Fla.; seven brothers, Charlie Crenshaw Jr., Calvin Crenshaw, Anderson (Annice) Crenshaw, Gilbert Crenshaw, and Jerome Crenshaw, all of Philadelphia, Pa. and Oneal (Lakristal) Crenshaw and Winston (Veronica) Crenshaw, both of Atmore and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church in Atmore with the Rev. Freddie Banks as pastor and Elder Kenny R. Johnson officiating. Public viewing will be Friday, March 21 from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the chapel.
Interment will be held at the Mt. Shiloh Cemetery in Nokomis with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC. of Atmore directing.
Walter Dank Boykin
ATMORE – Mr. Walter Dank Boykin, 68, of Atmore died Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.
Public viewing will be held today, March 19, 2008, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Christian Memorial Funeral Chapel.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church.

Evelyn Sasser Clayton Dillree
GULF BREEZE, Fla. – Evelyn Sasser Clayton Dillree departed this life on Sunday, March 16, 2008 in Gulf Breeze, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson Sasser and Lenora Luker Sasser; her husband, William C. Clayton and her brothers, Edward and Max Sasser. Born in Atmore, she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Alabama and taught third grade at Cordova Park Elementary for a number of years. After receiving her master’s degree in elementary guidance from Florida State University, she became a counselor at Gulf Breeze Elementary. From 1983 until 1985, Evelyn, was a social worker and substitute teacher in Guantanomo Bay, Cuba at the Naval Air Station.
Evelyn was named Florida’s Outstanding School Counselor of the Year; served as president of Florida School Counselors and president of West Florida Personnel and Guidance Association. She spent three years as public relations chairperson for the Florida School Counselor Association; four years as a delegate to the American School Counselor Association and served as a member of the White House Conference on Families.
Community acknowledgement came as president of the PJC Woman’s Club; Nominee for Outstanding Woman of the Year 1980 and being presented the Outstanding Educator Award in 1980. Following retirement, she pursued her interest in the arts through the Gulf Breeze Arts Club and Pensacola Cultural Arts, displaying and selling her paintings in many local shows.
She leaves her husband, John Dillree; two children, W.C. Clayton Jr. (Charlotte) and Beverlee Treis (Robert) and five sisters, Patsy Miller, Carolyn Hetzel and Joyce Brown, all of Atmore and Eunice Reynolds and Marie Bryant, both of Mobile. Additional survivors are her grandchildren, Clayton and Garrett Treis; stepchildren, Lisa Burnham (Marty) and John Dillree Jr. (Suzy) and step grandchildren, Bradley and Kimberly Burnham and Nicole Dillree.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with the Rev. Mark Brown officiating.
Pallbearers will be Glen and Randy Bryant, Jeff Reynolds, Earl and Ken Miller and Melvin, Gary and Matthew Hetzel. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the funeral home.
