An Atmore man was found stabbed to death in the doorway of his Virginia Drive home Saturday evening after leaving a party earlier that night.
According to a release issued by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Larry Howard, 51, was found dead around 10:10 p.m. at his mobile home located at 612 Virginia Drive.
According to Smith, the case is being treated as a homicide.
Deputies responded to the scene of the crime following a 911 call in reference to a person being stabbed. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Howard unresponsive. Paramedics with Atmore Ambulance pronounced him dead at the scene.
According to the release, it appeared that Brown had been stabbed in the chest area.
