Chamber of Commerce accepting applications for Ambassador program

The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for the 2008-09 Chamber Ambassador program.
As an ambassador, students have the opportunity to do volunteer work for the community through the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce. They must earn 50 hours of community service and miss no more than two monthly meetings.
Juniors from Escambia County High School, Escambia Academy, Atmore Christian, Northview High School and home-schooled students are invited to turn in an application for the program by May 16 at 4 p.m. to the Chamber office to serve during their senior year of school.
Students interested may pick up applications in their school offices, the Chamber office located at the Atmore Area YMCA &Community Center or online by emailing swilli@frontiernet.net.
When students turn in their applications they will schedule their interviews. Interviews will be administered May 19-20 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
No more than 12 students will be selected as an Ambassador and those interested in applying must have a grade point average of at lease a 3.0 to be considered.
