Sox defeat Braves, 10-6

Despite a last-inning rally by the Chuck Stevens Chevrolet Braves, the Alto Products White Sox came away with a 10-6 victory Thursday night in Cal Ripken Minor League action.
Infielders Ryan Johnson and Devon Robinson led the charge for the Sox with three hits each on four plate appearances. Both Johnson and Robinson finished with one double and two singles. Johnson scored two runs and Robinson crossed home plate once.
Pitcher RaShaun Flavors also had a good night at the plate going 2-for-3 with a double, single and two runs scored. First baseman Marlon Lee added a double and scored one run, while outfielder Jarrett Nelson chipped in with a single and one run.
Weston Milstead, Brantly Geck and Anthony Beckem led the Braves with one single each. Noah Brooks scored two runs.
Lions 13
Poarch 3
The Swift Supply Lions’ offense proved to be too strong for Poarch Thursday evening as they ran away with a 13-3 win.
Second baseman David Dobson led the way for the Lions going a perfect 3-for-3 at the dish with three singles and three runs scored. Justin Walden and Jamaya Frye both finished the night with a double and a single. Walden scored three runs and Frye scored twice.
Christian Thorpe, Chris Hollinger and Tyler Wilson also had good nights at the plate for the Lions with one single each. Hollinger scored two runs, while Thorpe and Wilson each scored once.
Tyler Sells, Kolby Flurnoy and Xan McGhee led Poarch with one single each.
Lions 6
Cardinals 5
The Swift Supply Lions were able hold off the Atmore Vision Center Cardinals on May 6 and narrowly escaped with a 6-5 win.
Shortstop Eric Williams led the Lions with a double and two runs scored. Christian Thorpe, David Dobson and Jamaya Frye each finished with a single. Dobson and Frye also scored one run each.
Gayton Thames led the Cards at the plate going 2-for-3 with a home run, single and one run scored. He also rounded the bases for a second homer in the fifth inning scoring on an error.
Derrick Arnold added two singles for the Cardinals and Jeffrey Feely hit one single.
White Sox 11
Poarch 5
Third baseman Ryan Johnson smashed a home run, hit two singles and scored three runs to lead the Alto Products White Sox to victory on May 6 as they doubled up Poarch, 11-5.
Devon Robinson, Logan Stacey and Derrick Kidd chipped in with one single each for the Sox.
Tyler Sells led Poarch with a double, single and one run scored and Kolby Flurnoy added a double and one run. Xan McGhee, Trennon Hamilton and Tanner Jackson each chipped in with one single. McGhee and Hamilton both crossed home plate once.
