Renovations being done at the Escambia County High School field house are just about complete with just minor tasks needing to be finished.
Coach Kyle Davis, ECHS athletic director and head football coach, said that the majority of changes made to the field house have been done for a couple weeks.
The new equipment has done more than just give the field house a newer, cleaner look.
It has given the players a boost in morale and raised the level of excitement around the locker room, according to Davis.
He added that things like that is always a plus because it makes the team work harder.
Davis was quick to admit that high school football today comes down to the things you have or do not have.
He added that the more things a program can offer players will always help make that program better.
Bringing a great football program back to ECHS is something that Davis plans to do over the next few years.
He said he looks forward to improving the exterior of the facilities and also the standing of the team so they can try and bring Atmore another state championship.
He added that his team is working hard to become a program that not only competes at a championship caliber level, but is expected to play at that level year in and year out.
