A mobile home on Old Ship Circle is a total loss after being engulfed by flames Sunday afternoon.

The black smoke could be seen from across town at approximately 2:45 p.m. when units from the Atmore Fire Department were called to the home.

Although the flames were controlled in under an hour, the home was completely destroyed. Neighbors on the scene said the home’s owner, a single male, was not at home at the time and no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
