Annie Lou Entrekin
FLOMATON - Ms. Annie Lou Entrekin of Flomaton died Aug. 31, 2008 in Mobile.
Ms. Entrekin was born April 2, 1924 to Will and Sarah Childress in Wawbeek. Ms. Entrekin was a homemaker.
Survivors include, her husband, James Entrekin; one son, Jerry and wife Frankie Entrekin of Fairhope; one sister, Estelle Croley of Mobile; three grandchildren and one great grandchild, J.P. Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 at Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Hogg and Dr. Larry Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis Cemetery in Wawbeek. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today, Sept. 3, 2008. Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Herbert Anthony Flowers
HUXFORD - Mr. Herbert Anthony Flowers, 61, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 at his home.
Mr. Flowers was a native and lifelong resident of Huxford. He attended Coley Methodist Church.
A son, Anthony DeWayne Flowers; his parents, Herbert and Tennie Flowers; a brother, Dennis Flowers and a sister, Sharon Lola Flowers, preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Eleanor Flowers of Huxford; son, Lee Flowers (Amanda) of Cuba, Mo.; daughter, Tonya Flowers (Justin) of Huxford; brother, Ron Flowers (Kathy) of Semirah Springs; sister, Jo An Hould (Paul) of La Verne, Calif.; sister-in-law, Sabrina Flowers of Mobile and two grandchildren, Alexis Lambert and Lane Flowers.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jean Spikes officiating. Burial followed at Enon Baptist Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were, Don Chunn, Glen Dreadin, Joe McMullen, Norman Hubert and Jimmy Booker.
Petty Funeral Homes, LLC (Eastside Chapel) was in charge of all arrangements.
Hugo Leon Esneul
ATMORE - It is with great sadness that the family of Hugo Leon Esneul announces his passing after a brief illness, on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2008 at the age of 72 years. He was born on Jan. 24, 1936 in Atmore, the only son of the late Hugo and Doris Jones Esneul. After graduating from Auburn University, he returned to the Atmore area. Over the years, Leon was involved in numerous business ventures: automobile financing, housing, farming, real estate financing and banking. He was an avid outdoorsman, reader and collector.
His first wife, Annie Jo and son, Karl, precede him in death.
Leon will be remembered by his wife, Joyce G. Esneul of Walnut Hill, Fla. and a son, Michael Esneul and wife, Stephanie of Niceville, Fla. He will be fondly remembered by three grandchildren, Daniel of Stuart, Fla., Michael and Christian of Niceville, Fla.; three step-daughters, April Davis, Christi Morris and Melanie McCurdy, all of Brewton; five step-grandchildren and an aunt, Katheryn Lowrey of Atmore.
Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Rudolph officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Wayne Trawick, Roger Jensen, Jerry Davis, David Swift, Steve Blanton and David Baggett. Honorary were Glen Keys, Ronnie Faulk, Melvin Iutzi, John Fuller, Tommy Stallworth, Ken Barnett, Byard Swift, Jr. and Bob Sawyer.
Family received friends Tuesday, Sept.r 2, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until service time.
Those who desire may make Memorial Donations in memory of Leon to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Jane Hill Raburn
ATMORE - Jane Hill Raburn, 56, beloved wife, cherished sister, dearly loved and loving aunt and niece and dearest friend of so many, died peacefully at her home Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008 after a year-long battle with cancer.
A native of Atmore, she resided in both Atmore and Hamilton. The daughter of the late Vernon “Buddy” Hill and Sarah Hill of Atmore, Jane was born Dec. 16, 1951. She graduated from Escambia County High School of Atmore in 1970, and received a bachelor’s degree in retail and marketing from Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. in 1973.
Jane’s beautiful smile, infectious laughter and sense of style, humor and grace will be missed. Her passion for travel and adventure included extended stays in France, Mexico and many parts of the United States. Jane loved art and antiques and was always in search of the perfect painting, figurine or piece of heirloom jewelry. Above all, Jane loved spending time with her family, friends, neighbors and two dogs, Sigi and Cricket.
Jane is survived by her husband of 11 years, Terry Raburn; her sister, Martha Ann (Chip) Jordan; nieces, Anne, Amy and Adelaide Jordan and 13 other nieces and nephews; her uncle, Harry (Catherine) Gardner; mother-in-law, Gaye Raburn; sisters-in-laws, Nelda Raburn, Phyllis (Kenny) Hatcher and Renee (Michael) French; brothers-in-laws, Larry (Mary) Raburn, Tommy (Maggie) Raburn and Stephen (Ragini) Raburn.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 from the Trinity Episcopal Church in Atmore with the Rev. Sandra Meyer and Jane’s friend, Diane Everette officiating. Interment will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery with Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the Trinity Episcopal Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Jane’s memory to the Community Hospice of Bay Minette of to the Trinity Episcopal Memorial Fund.
Carla Melissa Walker
ATMORE - Ms. Carla Melissa Walker, 32, of Atmore died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 at her residence.
Services will be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC of Atmore.
Dollie Ann McNeil
BREWTON - Mrs. Dollie Ann McNeil, 68, passed away on Friday, Aug. 29, 2008 at a Pensacola hospital.
Mrs. McNeil was a native of Haleyville, a former resident of Carrollton, Ky. and a resident of Brewton for the past 22 years. She was retired from Wal-Mart Brewton and attended the Little Escambia Baptist Church.
Her husband, William Robert McNeil and a son, Jerry Dale Floyd, preceded her in death.
Survivors include, two sons, Donny and Wanda McNeil of Atmore and James Marlon McNeil of Brewton; two grandsons, Jeremy McNeil and Jonathon McNeil of Atmore; two great grandsons, Jaecoby McNeil and Joshua McNeil, both of Atmore; a brother, J.W. Blankston of Birmingham and four sisters, Nelda Neal of Flomaton, Oledith “Sadie” Oliver, Lavrette Sabatino and Dorothy Baxter, all of Haleyville.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008 at 4 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Hogg officiating. Burial followed at Rock Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Corey Flowers, Brent Bell, Waymon Neal, Andy Marez, Matt McGhee and Pony Banda.
