ATMORE – Miss Carla Melissa Walker, 34, of Atmore passed away on Aug. 30, 2008 at her residence.
She was a native of Baldwin County and a resident of Atmore most of her life. She was a 1994 graduate of Escambia County High School and received her early childhood degree from Reid State College. She was a member of Jones Street Holiness Church in Atmore where she served as a Sunday school teacher, youth usher board member and was in the Teens for Christ group. She has worked as a teacher's aide with the Freemanville Head Start and Growing Tots daycare.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her mother and stepfather, Sheila and Kenneth Hill of Atmore; her father and stepmother, Willie C. and Linda Jenkins of Atmore; two sisters, Linda Montgomery of Pensacola, Fla. and Tanisha Hill of Atmore and four brothers, Willie F. Walker of Marion, Kelvin Hill of Atmore, Willie G. Jenkins of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Blake Jenkins of Pensacola, Fla.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2008 at the Jones Street Holiness Church with the Bishop Willie L. Williams, pastor, officiating. Interment was held in the Fairview Cemetery.
Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC. of Atmore directed the services.
