One person was injured after a three car collision on Highway 31 south Friday morning.
Dorothy Raines of Atmore was transported to Atmore Community Hospital after her 1995 Dodge truck allegedly rammed into the back of a stopped vehicle on Hwy. 31 in the southbound lane at approximately 11:15 a.m.
George Edward Jay, a resident of Atmore who was also involved in the accident, said he had just gotten off work and was heading home when the accident occurred. He said he was stopped and waiting for an opportunity to turn left onto Cross Road where he resides.
In between Jay's and Raines' vehicles was a 1997 Ford truck driven by Daniel Killam of Flomaton.
Jay said both he and the vehicle behind him were stopped in the southbound lane when Killam's truck was hit from behind by Raines which in turn sent Killam's truck into Jay's vehicle.
Jay nor Killam was hurt in the accident and Jay's vehicle sustained minimal damage.
Although there is no official word on the seriousness of Raines' injuries, a relative at the scene said she sustained bruises, but was not seriously injured.
The accident is being investigated by Alabama State Trooper Wesley Davis.
